Forever Came Calling

Trusty Wikipedia describes Twentynine Palms, California as "a city in a desert and mountain area" and is home to the world's largest Marines base... apparently. It's also home to Forever Came Calling, a pop-punk threepiece. Bassist, John, explains "We come from a place where there's not a lot to do. You either play music with friends, join the marines, or do drugs. We choose music." So, in 2006 the band were formed and thus the Twentynine Palms' music scene was born.

Forever Came Calling - rounded out by Joe (Vocals/Guitar) and new drummer Jeff - are like renegades of the Twentynine Palms music scene, playing shows under the radar to prevent getting shut down by police - a few years ago the Fire Department were called to shut down an over-populated show. This shows just how determined they are to play and make music.

They've played shows all over from Salt Lake City to Canada and this summer they intend to embark on a full US tour, following the Vans Warped Tour, but would love to play with Broadway Calls. Their dream is to do some big tours  in the future and play festivals like Big Day Out and Coachella. There's also talk of coming to Britain in the new year to play some shows with their friends in British band Wolves At Heart

Lyrically they take influence from Morrissey and The Cure, but their sound is reminiscent of early Blink 182 and John admits they have a few 'Blinkish parts'. In 2008 they recorded their CD, 'Hope.Passion' both at home and on location in Florida. John described the writing process as 'fun...we just show each other all our ideas and jam them out, sometimes we trade instruments too'.

Hope.Passion is out now, go to their Myspace to get it.
Check out Forever Came Calling at their Myspace and on Twitter.
