Roundup Rodeo

So it's been all quiet on the blog front of late and I can only apologise. This post might be a little late but here's Kiki vs Everyone's brief round up of 2010:

Record of the Year: Senses Fail ‘The Fire’
I raved about this in it’s October review, but several months on and the record still kicks some serious ass. It’s a steady improvement for the New Jersey band, how much better can they possibly get?! To say i’m excited to see them play some UK dates this February is an understatement.

Notable mention: Coffee Project ‘Moved On’
A close contender for the top spot, the mellow folky-cum-ska sounds of Gainesville’s Coffee Project leaves you wishing you were hanging out with your besties ‘til the early hours of a summer’s night. Beautiful.

EP of the Year: What’s Eating Gilbert ‘Dear God’
Chad Gilbert of all-time favourites, New Found Glory, branching out on his own gives us this fine offering. Amazingly catchy, sing-a-long and honest pop punk songs has left us hungry for more.

Notable mention: Alexisonfire ‘Dog’s Blood’
Vex is fast becoming a fan favourite, for its fine return to form, reminiscent of Alexis’ early days. We all wait with baited breath for more new material.

Gig of the Year: http://kikivseveryone.blogspot.com/search/label/RX%20Bandits
It was always going to be Rx Bandits; The band can do no wrong. Unbelievably talented, their live shows are seriously second to none. Their passion for music is clearly evident throughout their sets, blowing all other competition out of the water.

Notable mention: http://kikivseveryone.blogspot.com/2010/05/slam-dunk-special-new-found-glory.html
This gets a mention for the sheer volume of quality pop punk on board for the Slam Dunk by the Sea show. What more could a girl want? It's also where we got to interview the amazing Hit the Lights. Four Year Strong return to British shores on the Kerrang!/Relentless tour next month and I eagerly await the return of both Hit The Lights and New Found Glory sometime later in the year.

Band of the Year: All or Nothing
This Birmingham quartet has been going from strength to strength since we interviewed them back in May before their Slam Dunk appearance. Since then they’ve had a re-jig of the line, got signed and started work on a new full length. They should be feeling very accomplished right now.

Band you’re gonna be seeing a lot more of in 2011: Love Automatic
Expect big things from these guys in the new year, with a brand new EP they’ve been beavering away at due out in January. Hopefully it will bring them out to tour the US (...and eventually Europe & the rest of the adoring world!)

Notable mention: The Story Changes
The Ohio duo have been playing a bunch of shows with Hawthorne Heights this year, and even graced our shores in Europe for the first time. Here’s to hoping they come over and play us some songs in 2011! Check back next week for an exclusive interview with the twosome.

It's new year. It's only fair to set a couple of new year's resolutions and set Kiki Vs Everyone some goals for the coming year.

A blog a week
It’s a tough one but i’m hoping to knock out a new blog post for you all at least once a week. No reason not to be ambitious, eh?
